Portland Oregon Pet Sitter | Trusted Queer Latinx Care

Looking for a reliable Portland, Oregon pet sitter who actually loves your pets like you do?

Hi—I’m Charly (they/he/papi), a queer, Latinx, globe-trotting animal lover currently pet-sitting here in Portland. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, and full homes across the U.S. and around the world—from big dogs who need multiple walks a day to shy cats who need gentle, quiet companionship.

Note: My name appears as Charlie on Rover (blame their settings as I can’t change it), but I go by Charly with a y—because I’m here, I’m queer, and that’s how they spell it in Mexico (I’m Mexican American).

🌎 I’m a Portland, Oregon Pet Sitter Who Has Pet-Sat All Over the World

As a queer Latinx Portland Oregon pet sitter, I bring years of experience and global perspective to each home. This isn’t my first pet-sitting rodeo. I’ve provided care, companionship, and security in:

  • Gouda, the Netherlands – caring for 2 sweet cats for a Hungarian woman who made the Netherlands her home, and I sent her daily updates
  • Paris, France – where I balanced feeding a sassy orange cat with gelato breaks and evening strolls by the Seine
  • The UK – where I house-sat in the countryside, keeping a cozy cottage running smoothly while watching Yellowstone and cuddling with a senior cat and energetic doggie
  • Indianapolis, D.C., Johannesburg, Playa del Carmmen, San Francisco, and more

I’ve done sits for a few days and some for several weeks. Every home and every pet is different—but my standard of care stays the same: respectful, loving, and reliable.

🐾 Why I’m the Portland Pet Sitter You’ve Been Looking For

As a Portland pet sitter, I’ve had the honor of caring for animals in all types of households—from active dogs to quiet seniors.

I bring:

  • Years of experience with animals of all sizes, temperaments, and routines and administering medication to cats and dogs, as I formerly owned a cat I adopted from Thailand
  • Flexibility and great communication—I send updates so you can relax
  • Cultural awareness and trust—I’ve been a guest in homes around the world, and I take your space and pet’s safety seriously
  • A remote work lifestyle—I’m around during the day, not gone for 8+ hours like some sitters
  • A queer-affirming lens—especially for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC households who want to work with someone who gets it

My clients tell me their pets are calm, their homes are respected, and they feel total peace of mind when I’m around.

Pet-sitting is part of how I fund my travel lifestyle and stay grounded while running my business. I’m also a money coach for LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and first-gen folks who want to retire early and feel financially free.

Pet-sitting gives me time to connect with animals, slow down, and live like a local wherever I go.

It also allows me to support other folks—whether you’re traveling, caregiving, or just need a break.

  1. Hi Charly,

I’m in the Portland area and needing an occasional pet sitter during my vacations throughout the year. The duration could be 2-3 nights and up to 2 weeks. Are you currently taking new clients?
