Queer Digital Nomad: How I’m Funding 3 Months in Europe
This summer, I’m living in Europe for three months as a queer digital nomad—with a suitcase, a backpack, and a rotating cast of adorable pets to keep me company.
I’m working part-time as a money coach, pet-sitting to offset housing costs, and funding the rest of my lifestyle from my high-yield savings account, which I built intentionally through my business income. I also invest in stocks in a brokerage account on the side in case I want to sell stock to add to my cash.
This trip isn’t a once-in-a-lifetime splurge. It’s a planned, funded, and sustainable way of life.
What that really looks like:
- I used income from my money coaching business to build up a high-yield savings account that earns solid interest.
- That account is my travel fund. I don’t dip into retirement. I don’t rack up debt. I just withdraw from an account that was built for this.
- I pet-sit across Europe, which means I get free housing, daily dog cuddles, and more cash flow for local food and museum tickets.
Why this matters:
If you’re a first-gen queer professional, you’ve probably internalized the idea that you should only spend when it’s “justified”—like an emergency or something productive.
But resting in a garden in Oxford is productive. Joy and beauty are enough.
Spending money to live well on purpose is a win—not a failure.
I’m not “escaping real life”—I’m living mine, fully supported by systems I designed on purpose.
As a queer digital nomad, I’ve designed a financial system that funds joy, not just survival.

I built this lifestyle as a queer digital nomad with:
- A business model that reflects my values and supports my needs
- A high-yield savings strategy that works with my spending, not against it. I have my high yield savings account at CIT bank
- A willingness to use pet-sitting through sites like Trusted Housesitters to make travel more affordable and full of fur cuddles
Want this kind of freedom I have as a queer digital nomad?
In my six-month private money coaching program, I help LGBTQ+ first-gen earners get on track to $30K+ a year in passive income through savings and investing—while spending on the things they love now.
As a queer digital nomad, you don’t have to choose between thriving and being “responsible.”
You can be strategic and spontaneous.
You can have clarity and cash flow.
